1985 Schwinn build

Resto-Mod bike Refurbishing

I always encourage the refurbishing of older parts whenever possible.  As a result I love
building custom bikes from older brazed frames and finding ways to fit them with
modern technology for a more modern look and better performance.

Scratch builds start with your measurements and an interview on how you intend to use the bike (Errand running, Touring, City commuting etc.) Then I hunt down a donor frame ( If you don't have one to start with) and the build begins.

I only do around 3-4 builds a year max ( it is very time intensive). Currently the next opening is in July of 2025 to start the next build.

If you would like to talk about having a bike
built feel free to reach out via email with the details - I'd love to hear more and get it scheduled!

Handlebar adjustment

Basic Maintenance

It's always a good idea to learn how to do all your own maintenance on your bike.  It can be a bit intimidating at times though so I am more than happy to help if I can.
Some basic items to check would be

-Brake adjustments
-Tire inspection / replacement
-Chain tension
-Cable replacement / adjustments
-Annual tune ups
-Handlebar, pedal or seat swap outs
-Groupset upgrades
-Brake upgrades

Carbon Whisky/DT Swiss wheelset built for my Domane

Wheel Building

Custom builds always rely on custom wheels. Lacing and adding tension to a new wheel can be very rewarding as you watch it slowly come together.  If you need a set of wheels that doesn't currently exist,  feel free to reach out and we can find a way to make it happen.

There is no mod for you bike that will make a bigger difference than upgraded rims.
This bike was thrown out because of this front wheel.  The repair would be less than $65 despite being this ugly. Just a simple rim replacement.

Repair

Sometimes bad stuff happens.   Don't panic, bikes are usually easy to fix with a little attention.
We can help.
-Broken cables
-Flat tires
-Bent rims
-Rotten or seized hubs
-Bad bottom brackets
-Making a long-stored bike roadworthy again
- Whatever else bad roads or no roads has broken on your bike we can probably repair if you are in the driftless area.
